In the 80s lets be honest without the lads from outside of Leeds the service crew would never have been as good as they were: Remember the lads from Donny, Wakey, Ponty, Selby, Goole, York and even the lads from over the other side of the pennines making up the numbers.

Totally agree it was one of the things that defined us think it also confused the home fans where they'd be waiting for lads straight of the train from Leeds and lads would appear from Morecombe or Stoke etc would turn up with a small crew.

As a Wakey White obviously happy to see us mentioned.

Wakey lads were a good set of lads and some of the main players in 80s. Our little group of lads always teamed up with wakey at games, one of them was caught up in the operation wild boar if i remember rightly he was the lad who worked for british rail.
Donny lads were top boys as well, knew the Askern boys very well and Selby always had a good set of boys.

Remember down in Plymouth 4th October 1986, drinking down by the water there early doors with the Donny lads and about 50 others when the pub we were in got steamed by a large mob of PCE managed to run the fuckers outside and then legged em up the road: When it had calmed down and we are all talking to the other Leeds lads in the pub I couldnt believe where people were from, one big monster I remember chatting to was from Derby, other lads from Bristol and Swindon and a group from Southampton/Portsmouth area to name but a few.

You must know me & our kid and quite a few others who should remain nameless :)

We used to meet up with the Donny & South Emsall lads when heading darn sarf them days

There were some great firms out of Leeds also 3legs, Middleton, Griffin, Harehills my 1st interaction in the early 70's as a teenager at Citeh got my arse saved by the Hair Beer Bunch they scared me and they were on our side so what they did for the oppo I dread to think!

3 legs, they had a big black lad called Benny run with them, hard as fuck. First came across Benny in the late 70s in the Kop, used to stand left side at the back with the rest of the 3 legs and if you remember back in them days with all the monkey chants etc: that showed some balls for a black lad, funny no one ever did it near Benny though.
Pretty sure we would have been in same circles back then mate. Did you know the lads from Cleckheaton?

We used to hook up with some lads from Clecky, Fax, Elmsal all over really, remember the league cup game at the blunts drinking in a blunts pub when it kicked off and some clecky lads were straight in, blunts started it and were carrying but Leeds finished it as usual.

One of the lads in California is from Uttoxoter in Staffs and he has loads of mates still from midlands from them days.

Legs were scary bastards remember when they were an official supporters club but were banned.

I'm talking from 1979 onwards here...
The only Black Lad i recall from that time who hung around the top end of Town late 70s early 80s was Sinbad from Burley - There was a West Midlands Black Lad Called Tony who knew most of the Three Legs and top end of town crowd and would drink in there when he came over -

As for the Legs been banned - not sure if your getting confused with our lot - The Kippax - who were def banned for about 18 months before eventually been reinstated - they were a banned Supporters club who drank and based themselves around The Three Legs & Nags Head late 70s early 80s alongside loads of other Leeds Lads and continued to run coaches - The Legs was a flag ship pub for Leeds fans in those days simlar to Spencers and The Monkey today

The Three Legs to my memory always had an offical branch & eventually evolved into  what's now become the Vine Branch

It would have been late 70's early 80's Legs may just have been threatened with a ban, I started out in Wakey branch early 70's but stopped going on supporters coaches as they were too confining for some lads   switched to National coaches (free lance) for a few years then service trains from 77 onwards that's when we started interacting with other lads in the end went in one of the wakey lads vehicle (he had access to his firms vans for games) I could write a book about those days in the van!

We were also banned, once in the 70's and again in the 80's, then put on probation in the late 80's.
Someone asked me to write a book about our branch's escapades. I could certainly do that as I have a brilliant memory , thing is though, no fucker would believe half the stuff, although most folk would definately relate to it.
On a personal note, I thought the Donny lot were a right mob to be reckoned with.

I use to go with 'The Pioneer' and we got banned after Derby away '83, but reformed and kept it going until '87. Benny use to come on our coach occasionally, think he was from Miggy. We had black lad called Pat from Harehills, who was as great lad , but unfortunately he's no longer with us.
Personally thought our Southern branches had some decent lads particularly Northampton.

We should write a real book mate I'm sure there a few on here who could contribute.

I helped organize the leaflet campaign to go mob handed to Old Toilet on the way over in the Wakey lads van our kid and myself stopped at he Red Rose and gave it a repaint little did we know but a coach of scum stopped and about 30 of there lads got off thinking they'd give us a real shoeing for the back doors of our van to open and another 10 or 12 of our Wakey lads to give a real hiding, in fact the scum bus fucked off without most of those that got off.

Others stories include night matches at smoggies, WBA, Derby, shrubs, bluescum, blunts, wolves, brum, spuds, irons, arse .... and of course the 80's when we were at Odsal, St Andrews, Shrewsbury, Oxford, Plymouth, Swindon many others.

Tony D actually ran the West Mids branch of the supporters club for a time. He still goes to games.

There were some decent lads from Tadcaster back in the day don't know if they ran with the York lads but saw them at games often with some tasty lads from Selby.
